Allegedly Drunk Crane Operator Crashes into 4 Cars on New York Highway
A 47 year old crane operator is facing charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident after driving a truck mounted crane into several vehicles on the Long Island Expressway in New York.
The incident happened around 6:20pm on Tuesday, according to CBS Local. According to the police officer on the scene, the crane was slowed down after hitting each car, but the driver did not make a complete stop.
Police Office Joseph Goss was then able to stop his cruiser, run after the crane, hop into the passenger side, and coerce the man to stop.
None of the drivers of the 4 damaged vehicles were seriously injured, which is especially surprising after seeing the most damaged of the cars.
Three people were treated at local hospitals for minor injuries, however.
