Health and Safety Consultant

About the role

Ramboll is recruiting a full-time Health and Safety Consultant who may be based in its London or Birmingham office. The consultant will join a growing UK health and safety consultancy team and deliver strategic and operational risk-management assignments across multiple sectors and locations. The position combines technical delivery, client contact, proposal support and project coordination, with opportunities to expand health, safety and fire-safety expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver health, safety and fire-risk management services within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Complete corporate and regulatory compliance audits, risk assessments and other project-specific reviews.
• Prepare clear professional reports and provide practical, business-focused advice that addresses regulatory duties, corporate requirements, organisational culture and technical risk.
• Develop and deliver training and other tailored solutions for clients.
• Work directly with clients and stakeholders across property, high-technology, industrial, construction and infrastructure activities.
• Help prepare proposals, bids and tenders for new assignments.
• Support promotion of Ramboll health and safety services across the UK business.
• Contribute to broader health, safety and environmental projects when required.
• Assist project planning, resource coordination and financial administration, including timesheets, invoicing support, budget monitoring and accurate project records.

Required qualifications and experience

• NEBOSH General Certificate.
• TechIOSH or GradIOSH professional status.
• A full, clean driving licence.
• At least two years of demonstrable health and safety experience.
• Working understanding of UK health and safety and fire-safety legislation and the practical steps needed to maintain compliance.
• Developing knowledge of fire-risk assessment.
• Ability to produce detailed, high-quality work and communicate effectively.
• Confidence working with clients and stakeholders.
• Capacity to collaborate in a team while independently planning and managing an assigned workload.

Desirable qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent qualification, either completed or in progress.
• NEBOSH Fire qualification, a Level 3 equivalent, or active study toward one of these credentials.

Travel and working environment

The role requires travel within the United Kingdom and occasional overseas travel to deliver assignments.
