EHS Specialist

Role overview

Support Amazon’s Workplace Health and Safety program at its Goodyear facility. Work directly with associates and site leaders to reduce injury risks and turn safety information into practical workplace improvements.

Responsibilities

• Implement site safety programs, conduct daily safety audits, investigate incidents and assess risks.
• Deliver safety training and support continuous improvements while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Build relationships with frontline associates and leadership, coach safe behavior and advocate for employee wellbeing.
• Assess safety information and communicate findings clearly to encourage participation and improve prevention.

Mandatory qualifications

• High school qualification or equivalent.
• At least one year in an EHS-related field, OR a bachelor’s degree in an EHS-relevant subject, OR six months in a safety-related Amazon role.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, particularly 29 CFR 1910.
• Professional experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience handling confidential site-protection or personnel matters.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a safety-related field.
• Communication, teamwork, analytical judgment and customer focus.
• Team leadership experience, accident-data analysis, assessment of new processes and machinery, and job hazard/job safety analysis.
• Emergency response experience and current First Aid/CPR certification, workers’ compensation case-management experience.

Work arrangements and physical requirements

Full-time and onsite in Goodyear, Arizona. Flexible shifts include days, nights and/or weekends. The work involves lifting up to 49 pounds, frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending and reaching, standing or walking for up to 12 hours, variable noise, temperatures and weather, including outdoor loading areas, and repeated stair use where applicable. Support emergency response and effective emergency care. Obtain American Heart Association or American Red Cross adult First Aid, CPR and AED certification within three weeks of starting if not already held.

Pay and benefits

USD 28.94–33.41 per hour. Amazon states that the package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units, with final compensation based on experience, qualifications and location.
