Health and Safety Auditor, AWS Health and Safety

Role overview

Audit and improve AWS safety management programs in London, combining on-site verification, remote assessments and cross-functional compliance work. This position helps define the structures, ownership, policies and assessment mechanisms used to measure and improve organizational health and safety performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Safety Management Program audits, including site visits and remote assessments; follow up corrective actions.
• Develop regulatory-aligned standards, tools and guidance; support initial communication and implementation of safety programs.
• Advise operations on safety requirements and accurate regulatory compliance documentation.
• Train and coach regional operational teams, report performance metrics and communicate promptly with data center leadership.
• Work with H&S, Legal, Engineering, HR and Procurement to identify and implement improvements.
• Clarify requirements in ambiguous situations, educate stakeholders and manage time-critical compliance assurance work as the program develops.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, auditing, risk/loss prevention or an equivalent area.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Strong safety-management and safety-standards knowledge, program management and communication skills; ability to build partnerships across jurisdictions.

Preferred qualifications

• Professional auditing qualification or similar risk/compliance credentials.
• SQL and Excel experience.
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to improve performance.

Working arrangements and application
