Multi-Site EHS Lead

About the role

Amazon.com Services LLC is hiring a full-time Multi-Site EHS Lead based in Austin. The role combines operational safety leadership, employee wellbeing and development of WHS capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the Global WHS Program in partnership with Operations; assess risks, analyze incident trends and implement practical preventive controls.
• Develop the safety team and leadership plans, communicate expectations, and use technology and performance data to improve safety and operational outcomes.
• Audit compliance with WHS policies, resolve findings, oversee safety records and workplace organization, and manage training, first aid and emergency preparedness.
• Build trusted relationships with operational leaders and employees, influence decisions using evidence, and establish measurable safety improvement strategies.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or at least two years of Amazon blue badge/FTE experience.
• At least three years of increasing WHS and/or environmental program responsibility in manufacturing, production or service operations.
• At least three years of increasing people and performance management responsibility, or at least two years of Amazon Safety blue badge/FTE experience.

Preferred qualifications

• EHS experience in distribution or manufacturing sites with at least 250 employees, including exempt and non-exempt staff.
• Master’s degree and Certified Safety Professional certification.
• Lean and operational process improvement experience in a fast-moving organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with site leadership, departmental strategy and goal development, strong analysis and problem solving.

Work conditions

• Lift up to 49 pounds and regularly push, pull, squat, bend and reach. Stand or walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and repeatedly use stairs where present.
• Work around variable noise, temperatures and weather, including outdoor loading areas. Support emergency response and immediate care.
• Obtain adult First Aid, CPR and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks of starting if not already certified.

Travel is required for 50–70% of the time, with flexibility across shifts. Listed locations include Austin, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas, Texas.

Compensation and benefits

The employer states base pay separately from sign-on payments and restricted stock units. Final compensation depends on qualifications, experience and location. Employer-stated base pay: USD 63,000–94,600 per year.
