EHS Specialist

About the role

Amazon.com Services LLC is recruiting a full-time EHS Specialist in Riverside. The position supports the LGB6 Safety Team. The specialist supports employee wellbeing and workplace safety in an operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement workplace safety programs using risk assessments and safety data; carry out daily audits, investigate incidents and introduce measures to prevent injuries.
• Train and coach employees, promote safe work habits, and work with frontline associates and operational leaders to improve safety culture.
• Use incident and operational data to identify hazards, communicate findings, and support continuous improvement while maintaining operational effectiveness.

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Qualify through one of these routes: at least one year in an EHS-related field; a bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related discipline; or six months in a safety role within Amazon.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, professional experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience handling confidential workplace protection or personnel matters.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in safety.
• Communication, teamwork, analytical ability, sound judgment and customer focus.
• Team leadership and experience assessing accident data, new processes and machinery, including job hazard and safety analyses.
• Emergency response experience, current First Aid/CPR certificates, and workers’ compensation case management experience.

Work conditions

• Lift up to 49 pounds and regularly push, pull, squat, bend and reach. Stand or walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and repeatedly use stairs where present.
• Work around variable noise, temperatures and weather, including outdoor loading areas. Support emergency response and immediate care.
• Obtain adult First Aid, CPR and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks of starting if not already certified.

Availability for flexible day, night and weekend shifts is required.

Compensation and benefits

The employer states base pay separately from sign-on payments and restricted stock units. Final compensation depends on qualifications, experience and location. Employer-stated base pay: USD 28.94–33.41 per hour.
