Safety Specialist

About the role

Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd is hiring a full-time Safety Specialist in Mulgrave, Victoria to support Amazon Logistics sites across the metropolitan area. Regular travel between sites and alternating shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Global Safety Program, advise site teams and coach employees, operational leaders and WHS coordinators on policies and safe work habits.
• Complete risk assessments, inspections and audits of equipment, processes and records. Identify non-compliance, implement controls, mentor the site safety team and share effective practices.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly performance measures and reporting. Review Daily Deep Dive metrics, assign discussion owners and guide the safety data discussion.
• Support incident investigations, timely incident records, root cause reviews and corrective action plans.
• Use lean methods and kaizen to reduce ergonomic and safety risks. Help develop Australia’s WHS management system, procedures, training resources, compliance calendar, Austin tools and inspection programs in line with local requirements and Global EHS Management Standards.

Qualifications and experience

• At least one year of WHS-related experience, high school completion or equivalent, and knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 are listed in the employer’s basic qualifications.
• Professional Microsoft Word experience and demonstrated confidentiality in sensitive workplace and personnel matters.
• The role description also lists a relevant bachelor’s degree or Cert IV qualification.
• Emergency response, workers’ compensation case management and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent are preferred.
