Site EHS Manager II

Role overview

The Site EHS Manager II leads Amazon Global WHS Program implementation at the site, combining hands-on safety management, data-led prevention and partnership with operations leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives, risk assessments, compliance work, site audits and incident-trend analysis.
• Develop leadership plans, communicate expectations and measure performance against WHS policies.
• Use metrics, technology and risk insights to implement preventive controls and continuous improvements.
• Partner with operations leadership and serve as a trusted adviser on safety and operational risk.
• Manage first-aid and emergency-response capability, recordkeeping, workplace organization and WHS training.
• Engage associates and leaders to strengthen safety culture.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor degree, or at least two years as an Amazon blue-badge full-time employee.
• At least three years of increasing responsibility in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production or service operations.
• Microsoft Office knowledge, including pivot tables, charts and graphics.
• Adult First Aid, CPR and AED certification must be obtained within three weeks of starting if not already held.

Working conditions

The job may require lifting up to 49 pounds, frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending and reaching, standing or walking up to 12 hours, stairs, variable noise, temperatures and weather, and emergency-response support.

Preferred background

Amazon prefers distribution-centre or manufacturing EHS experience at a site of at least 250 people and lean or process-improvement experience.
