Site EHS Manager II

About the role

Amazon is hiring a full-time Site EHS Manager II in West Jefferson, Ohio. The manager leads the site Workplace Health and Safety program and partners with Operations to protect associates while supporting operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the Global WHS Program, establish expectations and guide site safety initiatives.
• Complete comprehensive risk assessments, analyze safety metrics and incident trends, and turn findings into preventive actions.
• Lead compliance work, site audits, recordkeeping, workplace organization and WHS training programs.
• Manage first-aid and emergency-response readiness and ensure effective care is available during emergencies.
• Build partnerships with Operations leaders, influence decisions and integrate safety into daily work.
• Lead and develop WHS professionals, strengthen continuous improvement and use technology and data to improve preventive controls.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or at least two years of Amazon blue-badge/FTE experience.
• At least three years of increasing responsibility in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production or service operations.
• At least three years of people and performance-management responsibility, or at least two years of Amazon Safety blue-badge/FTE experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Distribution-centre or manufacturing EHS experience at a site with at least 250 exempt and non-exempt employees.
• A master’s degree or Certified Safety Professional credential.
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in a fast-paced operational setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical problem-solving and experience setting departmental goals and strategies.

Working conditions

• Lift up to 49 pounds; frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach; and stand or walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Work around variable noise, temperatures and weather, including outside loading areas, and regularly use stairs where present.
• Anyone without qualifying adult First Aid, CPR and AED certification must obtain it within three weeks of starting.

Pay and benefits

The stated base salary is USD 70,100–105,200 per year. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications and location.
