UNITED STATES — A recall announced on 5 November 2026 covers approximately 3,662,000 Little Giant ladders fitted with Rapid Locks. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission says incomplete lock engagement can allow sudden retraction and a fall. The equipment warning is directly relevant to maintenance and other employers holding affected ladders.
Identification depends on model and QC marking
The notice lists Adjustable Fortress 2.0, Conquest 2.0, Dark Horse 2.0, Epic, King Kombo XT, Leveler, MegaLite, MegaLite+, Multi, Quantum and Vector. It excludes ladders bearing an orange rectangular QC sticker above a Rapid Lock on the rail. The official photographs and identification instructions should be used rather than this article’s conceptual image.
CPSC reports 25 retraction reports, including 19 injury reports, plus 39 reports of locks not functioning properly. The products were sold from December 2015 through October 2026.
Follow the official stop-use and remedy process
The manufacturer directs owners to stop use, review the recall instructions and request the label-and-instruction kit. Further evaluation applies to locks still malfunctioning after the specified maintenance; replacement or refund options depend on that process. Consult the complete official notice for eligibility and instructions.
HSE Blog Analysis
For an employer, a recall check needs to reach ladders held in vans, satellite stores and contractor-controlled areas as well as the main equipment register. A purchase description may not identify which physical unit is affected. Someone needs to check the item and record the outcome before it returns to use.
A practical response assigns responsibility for identification, temporary withdrawal and completion of the manufacturer’s remedy. It also gives workers a usable alternative so that removing equipment does not encourage improvisation. Our ladder pre-use inspection discussion offers background, while task risk assessment helps evaluate alternative access methods. General guidance cannot replace this recall’s model-specific instructions.

Checked CPSC, Little Giant, Cox Media Group via WHIO/KIRO, MyParisTexas and 3B Media: five organisations. WHIO and KIRO are one syndicated report, and secondary reports largely follow the recall. Cox coverage gives a conflicting injury total; this article follows the matching CPSC and manufacturer figure of 19. The CPSC URL’s 2027 segment is a recall-series label; its stated release date is 5 November 2026. Product photos remain available at the official links and are not reproduced.
