Injury Prevention Specialist

Role overview

Work onsite at Amazon’s Richmond fulfillment centre as part of the local WHS team, reporting to the Site WHS Manager. Lead preventive safety and ergonomic coaching, helping associates improve movement before discomfort or injury develops.

Responsibilities

• Assess injury data and risk-assessment findings to design targeted ergonomic interventions.
• Evaluate workplaces and remove potential hazards, turn findings into practical prevention strategies.
• Develop and deliver ergonomic education and individual coaching to improve movement techniques.
• Partner with Operations to embed prevention into daily work and encourage sustainable changes in behavior.

Mandatory qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Certified Athletic Trainer status from the Board of Certification or equivalent state certification.
• Valid evidence of American Heart Association or American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED course completion.
• Microsoft Office and digital recordkeeping proficiency.

Preferred qualifications

• Occupational or industrial work-setting experience.
• Experience with an industrial wellness program.

Work arrangements and physical requirements

Full-time, onsite in Richmond, Virginia. The work involves lifting up to 49 pounds, frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending and reaching, standing or walking for up to 12 hours, variable noise, temperatures and weather, including outdoor loading areas, and repeated stair use where applicable. Support emergency response and effective emergency care. Obtain American Heart Association or American Red Cross adult First Aid, CPR and AED certification within three weeks of starting if not already held.

Pay and benefits

USD 60,200.00–90,200.00 per year. Amazon states that the package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units, with final compensation based on experience, qualifications and location.
