Safety Technician

Role overview

Support Amazon’s Workplace Health and Safety team at its Wakefield site. Monitor day-to-day operations, identify hazards and help colleagues apply safe processes while developing your career in workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out risk assessments and audits and check compliance with Amazon safety procedures.
• Compile and update safety metrics reports, assess site information and share findings with colleagues.
• Understand how tasks and equipment operate, identify potential problems and implement safety improvements.
• Guide Operations and other business teams on safety processes and assist with routine and ad-hoc safety work.

Mandatory qualifications

• Health and Safety NVQ Level 3, NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience producing metrics reports and analyzing data to identify problems and communicate performance.
• Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and relevant regulations.
• Experience communicating in English, in writing and verbally.

Preferred qualifications

• Lean, 5S or Kaizen experience.
• Experience planning or managing environmentally conscious initiatives.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Work arrangements

Full-time and onsite in Wakefield, England, with direct contact with colleagues during their shifts.
