Environmental Health & Safety Engineer

Role overview

Philips is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for its FDA-regulated medical-device and pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Ontario, California. The engineer provides on-site analysis, training, project leadership and consultative EHS support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safety orientation and training and track completion against regulatory schedules.
• Analyze injury and illness data and improve the training curriculum.
• Manage contractor safety, environmental permits, SDS records and OSHA logs.
• Support workers’ compensation administration and inspections by OSHA, EPA, DOT, insurers and other authorities.
• Conduct management-of-change reviews for equipment and maintain the business-continuity system.

Requirements

• At least three years of industrial EHS experience.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO and related regulations.
• Strong organization, communication and stakeholder-influence skills.
• A relevant bachelor’s degree is preferred; Spanish is a plus.

The role is on site five days per week. Philips lists USD 70,000–110,000 annual base pay and requires existing US work authorization.
