Onsite Medical Representative

Role overview

The Onsite Medical Representative supports associate health and safety at Amazon Cambridge, independently administers first aid, advises on occupational and non-occupational conditions and refers care when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first aid and emergency support and make appropriate medical referrals.
• Reduce injury risk through awareness, education and coaching.
• Maintain care records, daily logs, shift reports, supplies and a clean clinical area.
• Coordinate workers compensation and return-to-work programs.
• Attend safety committee and case-review meetings, greet new hires and support safety operations.
• Maintain First Aid, CPR and AED credentials, help facilitate certification training, and assist with random saliva drug-testing protocols.

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid WSIB-approved Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level A or C.
• Either valid Ontario Primary Care Paramedic certification through the Ministry of Health or Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators, or Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse standing with the relevant ministry, provincial college or health department.

Working conditions

The role requires flexible shifts and may involve lifting up to 49 pounds, frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending and reaching, standing or walking up to 12 hours, stairs, and variable noise, temperatures and weather.

Preferred background

Amazon prefers Canadian Armed Forces medic experience, Canadian Red Cross instructor status, Microsoft Office skills, industrial-wellness and ergonomics experience, workers compensation knowledge and digital recordkeeping.
