PMC Senior HSE Site Engineer

Role overview

Wood is recruiting a PMC Senior HSE Site Engineer in Abu Dhabi for a major energy-sector client. The role ensures construction, commissioning and start-up work meets project HSE requirements, applicable regulations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor site construction and commissioning activities and stop unsafe work when necessary.
• Review JSAs, risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work documents.
• Lead inspections, audits, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Oversee contractor performance and high-risk work including lifting, confined spaces, excavation, hot work and working at height.
• Deliver inductions and campaigns, support emergency drills and report HSE performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, occupational safety, environmental science or a related discipline.
• Typically 15 or more years of HSE experience, including at least five years in PMC/EPC construction and commissioning.
• Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, with ISO, OSHA or lead-auditor credentials advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, PTW, HAZID, JSA and contractor HSE management.
