Environmental Manager

Role overview

The Environmental Manager leads regulatory compliance and environmental strategy for Gerdau’s Cartersville steel mill and advises site leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead Title V air, NPDES, stormwater, SPCC, hazardous-waste, SARA and radiation-protection programs.
• Own the environmental management system and improvement plan.
• Manage KPIs, capital projects, audits, actions and compliance schedules.
• Liaise with regulators and support landfill operations, groundwater monitoring, remediation and emissions controls.
• Lead environmental personnel and provide backup Health & Safety support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering or a related technical field.
• At least four years of compliance experience in steel, metals, mining, power, chemicals or another heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of regulations, permits, reports, audits and management systems.
• Leadership, communication and improvement skills.
