Industrial Health & Safety Manager

Role overview

The manager reports to the Vice President and General Manager, with a functional relationship to the Director of Safety and Health, and provides safety leadership and loss-prevention expertise.

Responsibilities

• Assess safety, health and loss-control performance and recommend improvements.
• Direct programs and management accountability for hazard prevention.
• Communicate safety and health issues across the operation.
• Control employee-safety, industrial-hygiene, fire, injury-management, OSHA, contractor and job-safety-analysis risks.
• Participate in inspections, observations and investigations and represent the site during OSHA activity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or another technical field with five to seven years of safety-management experience; or a relevant master’s degree with three to five years.
• Manufacturing and facilitation experience preferred.
• Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills.
• ASP or CSP preferred.
• Work eligibility without current or future sponsorship.
