Product Safety Compliance Manager

Amazon is hiring a Product Safety Compliance Manager for its Consumables Private Brands portfolio. Seattle is the primary listed location, with New York and Santa Monica also available.

Responsibilities

• Assess new and changing safety regulations for cosmetics, detergents, formulated household goods and over-the-counter or drug products, then translate them into practical controls.
• Lead product-safety investigations, customer-complaint and incident reviews, post-market surveillance and corrective-action recommendations.
• Own labelling compliance and advise on claims, warnings, ingredients and market requirements.
• Review formulations, ingredient lists, Safety Data Sheets and laboratory reports and advise on restrictions, use levels and compliance pathways.
• Manage notification and registration obligations, including US FDA cosmetics requirements, EU cosmetics notifications, OTC listings and detergent disclosure.
• Provide technical guidance to Legal, write internal guidance and support vendor onboarding and ingredient inventories.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology, Pharmacy or a related science.
• At least four years of Product Safety and Compliance Law experience.
• Working knowledge of several US and EU consumables frameworks including MoCRA, Proposition 65, PFAS rules, EU Cosmetics, Detergents, CLP and REACH.
• Experience reviewing formulations, SDS and labelling requirements and supporting safety investigations.

Preferred qualifications

• Program-requirements and metrics experience, an auditing or similar risk credential, OTC regulatory knowledge and multi-jurisdictional compliance experience.
