WHS Specialist - Health & Wellbeing

Role overview

This Workplace Health, Safety and Wellness Specialist leads health, injury-prevention and wellbeing programs and works with operations and support teams across Amazon Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Own musculoskeletal injury-prevention and health and wellbeing program strategy.
• Manage onsite and telehealth physiotherapy services across fulfilment centres, sort centres and delivery stations, including coverage, rostering, vendor performance, clinical and utilisation measures, purchase orders, invoices, contract changes and renewals with Procurement and Legal.
• Build governance, standard procedures, KPI tracking, case follow-up and dashboards, and report through weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews and Board updates.
• Develop occupational-health, early-intervention, injury-management and return-to-work programs and scale successful pilots.
• Support physical-demands assessments, task analysis and ergonomic risk assessments; investigate musculoskeletal injuries and recommend engineering and work-design controls.
• Maintain compliance with Australian WHS law, codes and Amazon standards; support records, audits, inspections, training and coaching.
• Build annual planning and budget cases using injury, cost and utilisation data.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in health or safety, psychology, behavioural health, public health, health science or a related field.
• At least three years experience, ideally in an occupational setting.
• Knowledge of workplace and occupational health and safety legislation.

Preferred background

Experience managing external physiotherapy or allied-health vendors, contracts and budgets, including clinical and utilisation performance measures, is preferred.
