Workers were part of a road-sign contract
Kuala Lumpur traffic police said the collision occurred at about 5 a.m. on the route from Jalan Damansara towards Jalan Parlimen. Five workers were associated with warning-sign installation under a Kuala Lumpur City Hall contract.
The 28-year-old supervisor died while receiving treatment. The 49-year-old lorry driver suffered head and hand injuries and was treated at Kuala Lumpur Hospital, according to the police account. The car driver was reported uninjured.
Driver arrested while inquiries continue
Police said a 26-year-old driver was arrested and remanded to assist the investigation after an alcohol screening. The reported suspicion of impairment is part of an ongoing investigation, not a conviction. The reviewed reports do not establish the employer's traffic-management arrangements or identify a concluded workplace-safety breach.
